Ambrosia
It is medium to large in size and has mostly red coloration,
with yellow patches. It has cream-colored meat with a sweet,
crisp, aromatic flavor and low acidity. |

Braeburn
High impact flavor. The crisp, aromatic Braeburn blends sweetness
and tartness just right for snacks and salads. Its color varies
from greenish-gold with red sections to nearly solid red.
Available October through July. |

Cameo©
Pleasantly sweet-tart flavor and firm texture. Color is red
stripe over a creamy background. Excellent dessert apple. Discovered
as a chance seedling in the orchard of Darrel Caudle of Dryden,
WA in the 1980's. Available October through August. |

Fuji
Like fine wine, its flavor improves with age. Fuji's spicy,
crisp sweetness makes it excellent out of hand or as applesauce.
Fuji varies from yellow-green with red highlights to very red.
Available year round. |

Gala
Heart-shaped, distinctive yellow-orange skin with red striping.
A crisp, sweet taste that can't be beat. Gala is the perfect
take-along snack - any time of day. Great in salads. Available
August through March. |

Golden Delicious
Its firm, white flesh retains its shape and rich, mellow flavor
when baked or cooked, making it the preferred "all purpose"cooking
apple. Skin so tender and thin that it doesn't require peeling
for most recipes. Available year round. |

Granny Smith
Mouthwatering tartness. Bright green Granny with a pink blush
has a crisp bite and a tangy flavor. Its tartness really comes
through when baked and sautéed. Enjoy Granny Smiths out
of hand or in a salad. Available year round. |

Honey Crisp
Known for their exceptionally crisp and juicy texture,
HoneyCrisp apples are being called "the best fresh-eating
variety of all." But that is to be decided by you and your
taste buds - which will water with every bite. HoneyCrisps are
juicy apples bursting with outstanding flavor. They are excellent
keepers and can last up to six months in your refrigerator...if you
can resist these beauties for that long. |

Jonagold
A blend of Jonathan and Golden Delicious apples, offering a
unique tangy-sweet flavor. With a yellow-green base and a blush
stripe, Jonagold is excellent both for eating fresh and for
cooking. Available September through March. |

King David
Thought to be a cross between Jonathan and Arkansas Black, this solid
red late-season apple hangs late on the tree and should be picked
when full color develops. Savory flesh is yellow, firm, crisp,
spicy and juicy. Said to be resistant to scab, cedar apple rust
and fireblight. |

McIntosh
With red and green skin, a tart flavor, and tender white flesh. It
becomes ripe in late September. It is traditionally the most popular
cultivar in New England, well known for the pink sauce unpeeled
McIntoshes make. Many consider it a superior eating apple and well
suited for applesauce, cider, and pies. It is extremely common to
find this particular cultivar packed in children's lunches across
North America owing to its small to medium size and longstanding
reputation as a healthy snack. |

Pacific Rose
The Pacific Rose apple has a superb crunch, with firm, juicy,
cream-colored flesh. The apple is thin-skinned for excellent
eating. The Pacific Rose has a clean, refreshingly sweet flavor
which also makes it a perfect desert apple. |

This new hybrid apple borrows its sweetness from the golden delicicious
and its note of acidity from the Russian variety Duchess of Oldenburg.

Pink Lady
Sweet-tart taste. Flesh is firm and crisp. Skin is pink blush
over yellow. Good for eating out of hand and cooking. Available

Red Delicious
Americas favorite apple. This one's right up there with baseball
and hot dogs when it comes to all-American goodness. It's a
five star snacking apple. Mild-flavored, sweet and juicy - Red
Delicious has deep ruby skin and a classic heart shape. Available

Seiki Ichi
This is a new selection of apple from Japan where the name means
"world's # 1". This is the result of a cross between 'Red Delicious'
and 'Yellow Delicious' apples. Fruit is very large. Flesh is crisp,
sweet and very, very juicy. |

Winesap
They're all the perfect occasion for this red-as-red-wine favorite, a
beauty of an apple that looks terrific on store displays and at
home in wreaths, fruit bowls, and cheese platters. But gorgeous as
Winesap apples are to look at, they're even better to eat -

Highly aromatic flavorful pear. Dense flesh makes it ideal for
baking and cooking. They are brown and often russeted. They
do not change color as they ripen. Available August through

D'Anjou
Abundant juice and sweet flavor when ripe. They do not change
color as they ripen. Available October through June |

Hosui Asian
Pears
Hosui Asian pears combine the flavor and sweetness of pears with the crunchiness of crisp apples. Also known as pear-apples, salad pears, and crystal pears. |

Red Anjou
Much the same flavor and texture as green Anjous. Remains maroon
red when ripe. Available October through May |

Red Bartlett
Bright red skin when fully ripe. Same flavor, texture and use
as yellow Bartletts. Available August through January |
